The Santa Rosa Netball Club is set to host one of the county’s biggest tournaments next summer, fully sponsored by Divine Fijians Home Care (DFHC).
The event, themed ‘Vine to Victory’ will take place next August at Santa Rosa Junior College and aims to inspire young athletes to pursue careers in netball while promoting awareness against drug use.
An agreement to host the tournament was officially signed today between DFHC and the netball club.
A day to remember and it is a done deal, the club wrote on Facebook.
DFHC chief executive officer, Poasa Koroitamana, said the sponsorship reflected a cause close to his heart.
“It’s sad to see young Fijians ending up in jail due to drug abuse. We need to be proactive,” he said.
“This tournament is one way we can reach out, guide them, and steer them toward a better path. It is about working together for a brighter future.”
DFHC has been a longtime supporter of the club, with one of their proudest milestones being the selection of two young players to represent the USA Netball team, competing nationally and internationally this year.
“We’re so thankful to DFHC for always standing with us,” said Santa Rosa Netball president, Tema Daveta.
“Support like this motivates us to give more of our time and energy to help young people achieve their dreams.
Many of us volunteer countless hours, and sponsorships like this make it worthwhile.”
DFHC has contributed more than USD $20,000 in sponsorship to the club so far.
