More than 15 caregivers were officially inducted today at Divine Fijians Home Care (DFHC), equipping them with the essential knowledge, skills, and understanding required for their role.
California laws require new hires to complete a five-hour initial training and orientation before being placed with a client.
DFHC takes pride in its ongoing training programs, which are delivered through both in-person and virtual sessions.
“The caregiving industry is evolving,” said DFHC chief executive officer, Poasa Koroitamana.
“Your presence here shows that you care about your role and value the lives soon to be placed in your hands.”
During the induction, caregivers were briefed on DFHC’s systems and processes, designed to uphold compliance with California laws and the Code of Regulations, including Title 17 and HIPAA standards.
“The caregiving industry is massive, and it is a continuous learning journey,” said Kasanita Leba, one of the inductees.
“It is encouraging to see that we are part of the care team.”
DFHC’s Human Resources manager, Jale Kunawalu, extended heartfelt thanks to caregivers for their commitment and contribution to the industry.
“Thank you, we truly admire your work and dedication,” he said.
“You are the epitome of hope for families in need of care, and the bridge between loved ones and the comfort they deserve.”
Mr Koroitamana honored caregivers who have been instrumental in the company’s growth over the past eight years.
“Mountains after mountains, problems after problems – the company has grown exponentially because of caregivers like you,” he said.
“We are growing. We are tapping into new markets. Ready yourselves.”
